Teaching Tips January 1, 2009 |
This activity can be used to encourage students, particularly younger children, to take more time to observe the artwork during a field trip to the local art institute. It can be adapted for any type of field trip.
Each child is given a clipboard with a list of the items in the treasure hunt. For younger children, tie a pen to the clipboard so that it is always handy. It’s usually best to keep the list to one page, where all the child has to do is put a check on the blank in front of the item or circle the item. Putting the list in alphabetical order gives the child further practice in this skill. Here’s some suggestions for your list of items to search for in the paintings and artwork:
KEY WORDS: art, treasure, hunt |
