|
Description: This is a one-year high school elective course designed to give the student practical experience in the field of digital photography. The student will learn principles of good photography, selecting cameras and other equipment, the basics of image editing, using Photoshop, how to restore old photos, and printing digital images. The student will be expected to become familiar with his own digital camera, take pictures that apply the tips from the text, be able to define the terms in the glossary, and produce a portfolio of the photographs (minimum of 20 pages). The course consists of eight units: Book 1- Digital Photography Overview, Book 2 – Building Your Digital Photography Studio, Book 3 – Using Digital SLRs, Book 4 – Taking Great Pictures, Book 5 – Basics of Image Editing, Book 6 – Editing with Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, Book 7 – Restoring Old Photos, and Book 8 – Printing and Sharing Your Digital Images.
